About Dover Cruise Terminal
The Dover Cruise terminals are located about 75 miles from Central London. It is one of three ports used by cruise ships visiting the London area. The others are Southampton and Harwich, both a similar distance from London than Dover.
The main function of Dover is as a ferry port connecting the UK and France and it is this trade that dominates the port. The Cruise Terminals are located at the Western docks, the ferry port at the Eastern Docks. The town of Dover is in between.
There are two main cruise terminals at Dover, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The largest ships tend to use Terminal 2. The cruise calendar in Dover normally starts from the month of April until late September/October. Dover Cruise Terminal 1 is set in the former Marine Railway Station. Larger cruise liners tend to use Terminal 2. Both terminals offer large lounges, cafe bars and washrooms.
To get between the cruise terminals and the bus and rail stations you will need to take a 5 minute taxi ride. A taxi from between Cruise Terminals and the rail and bus stations should be around 7- 8 GBP.
