About Malaga Cruise Terminal
The Port of Malaga is situated in the south of the Iberian Peninsula, on the Southern Coast of the Mediterranean, sheltered by a natural bay. The port’s main activity is importation, while other traditional traffic in the Port of Málaga, and not less important, are cabotage traffic: general goods, vehicles and passengers that are moved by regular lines with Melilla.
More than 350,000 passengers arrive in the Puerto de Málaga each year, primarily on ferries that serve the Spanish enclaves of Melilla and Cueta in North Africa. Cruising has also contributed to the growth of the port, however, with visits by nearly 250 ships and 50,000 cruise guests each year.
The first phase of the newest Passenger Terminal and its South berth was inaugurated on 23rd of December 2007. The new Passenger Terminal has a total area of 8,970 sqm. Lobbies, luggages and handling departments, operator offices, controls, dressing room and toilets are distributed in that space. All the most important shipping lines in the sector have been engaged in the new Passenger Terminal and the Port of Malaga has been recognized as one of the most important ports in the country.
